Avid BB5 MTB 160mm Mechanical Disc Brake
The power lies in simplicity. Mechanical disc brakes have been a favorite of riders looking for control, durability, reliability and easy adjustment for many years. The special adjustment knob allows for quick and tool-free adjustment of the correct distance between pad and disc, even when the brake pads are worn. This option does not exist with hydraulic brakes. Additionally, mechanical disc brakes can be combined with Avid's Speed Dial® levers for perfect coordination.
Ball Bearing 5 - Simply great.
The BB5 features Avid's 3D caliper alignment system, a forged brake body and a pad adjuster. No tools are required to replace the brake pads. Once you've tried it, you'll no longer believe that the BB5 is an entry-level brake.
Tri-Align™ Caliper Positioning System™
Another original Avid technology that makes your life easier - a brake has never been easier to install and adjust. With Avid's Tri-Align™ Caliper Positioning System™, centering the caliper on the disc is literally possible in just a few seconds. Simply loosen the CPS™ screws a little, squeeze the brake lever and tighten the screws again. Perfect alignment of the brake caliper in no time.
The brake caliper is suitable for mounting as a front or rear brake! The brake is compatible with all V-Brake brake levers. A perfect combination is achieved with the Avid Speed Dial levers. With these you can also adapt the pressure point of the brake to your driving style.
We recommend the AVID FR-5 brake levers for this brake system.
