From the Ultra Gatorskin clincher tire he inherited the long-lasting carbon black mixture, the effective puncture protection breaker and the Duraskin fabric. The Sprinter GatorSkin itself has the typically comfortable ride of the tubular tire. The professionals use Duraskin tires in a very similar combination at the Paris-Roubaix and other extremely material-wearing spring classics. So if you want to rack up kilometers, don't have the finest bitumen covering your roads and what you particularly value about your tires is their inconspicuous function, then you've found the right one here.
DuraSkin® - the patented and particularly light side wall reinforcement! Tires with DuraSkin sidewall protection must be able to take a beating. They are used under the most adverse conditions. On messenger bikes the tires slide along curbs, on touring bikes they cross continents without rubbing, in racing they have to pass tough tests like Paris-Roubaix. The high-quality polyamide fabric reliably protects the side of the tire and prepares the tire for the worst. These tires stand out from the crowd thanks to their brown sidewalls.
SafetySystem Breaker: The SafetySystem Breaker is made of Kevlar-reinforced, high-strength nylon fabric. Puncture and cut resistant, but still light and flexible, the tire adapts better to the surface. Without noticeably increasing weight or rolling resistance, it protects the carcass from foreign objects and contributes to a long service life of the tire. In addition, tires with SafetySystem Breaker offer particularly comfortable driving characteristics.
