The Empire™ E70 Knit features our new Xnetic™ Knit upper, which offers unparalleled comfort and the best breathability. The Xnetic Knit technology was developed for the special requirements of performance-oriented cycling. An internal TPU skeleton system provides support where it is needed, while the knit is so stretchy that it feels like a sock. The upper has a durable water repellent finish (DWR) and is easy to clean, and a TPU-reinforced toe and heel area increases durability and abrasion resistance. Giro shoes differ significantly from shoes from other manufacturers in three ways: the lasts, the individual adjustment to the arch of the foot and the carbon soles, which were developed together with the carbon specialist Easton®.

The lasts: To achieve the best fit, you need the perfect last. The Giro lasts were developed by a team of shoe designers, last specialists, biomechanics and professional cyclists. They were revised 16 times and had to stand up to thousands of test kilometers on the road.

Arch support: The cyclist's foot needs the right support to ensure efficient power transfer to the pedal. Without support, the foot tires more quickly, the comfort and fit of the shoe are moderate and the rider's power even decreases. The Giro SuperNatural Fit System combines a bicycle-specific footbed with an ingeniously easy-to-adjust arch support. The fit and heel hold are improved and the foot is kept as close to the pedal as possible. Typical problems such as hypersensitive areas, numbness and cramps occur less frequently or not at all. There are three included arch supports to choose from, which are attached to the SuperNatural Fit footbed with Velcro and can be used to individually adjust the fit and comfort: Large (large - red) = maximum height, Medium (medium - orange) = medium height and Small (small - green) = lowest height.

The sole: Giro uses the know-how of carbon specialist Easton® in the development of the outsole. The result is a sole with maximum stiffness without increasing weight or compromising comfort and fit, precisely in line with the requirements of professional riders. The soles have the lowest possible height of max. 6.5mm in the area of ​​the pedal plate threads, the other zones are extremely flat. This extremely low sole profile allows a flat, seamless transition between shoe and sole.
