Hope has 30 years of experience in hub design and manufacturing. With the Pro 5, Hope has used this experience to design a product that meets the demands of current and future bicycle technology. The Pro 4 has proven itself to be one of the most reliable and versatile hubs on the market. Hope has further developed this proven technology with several improvements - improved sealing and reduced resistance in the freehub body, increased load capacity at higher torques, even better durability, more drive points and better compatibility with new drive systems. These factors were taken into account and combined in the design of the hub.

The highlight of the PRO5 hubs - all hubs can be converted to other axle or freehub standards as usual, the RS4 conversion kits are also compatible with the new Pro 5 (Centerlock). Ergo: You now buy a hub for quick release and can also use it with a thru axle in your next bike.

The sealing of the hub
Reliability is always a priority when designing products. The external seal plays an important role here on the Pro 5. Hope has further developed the Pro 4's design in this area with a new seal on this drive side that provides better sealing and less resistance. This system is designed to withstand even the worst weather conditions, even in the UK!

Reducing resistance in freewheeling

• The Hope Pro 5 builds on this and offers a balance between recording speed, resilience, durability and resistance. This has practical advantages and was achieved by improving the seal with a new zero-resistance labyrinth seal, and an improved ratchet and pawl system, with new springs. Both significantly reduce air resistance and increase durability and resilience compared to the Pro 4. Another big update to the rear hubs is the increase in the locking points (from 44 to 108) through an offset 6-pawl freehub design, where there are always 3 pawls are in action. This achieves the right balance between recording speed, resilience, resistance and durability. In practice, this means a fast feel on the trail while keeping the crank movement at an acceptable level without compromising the hub's free rotation or its reliability.
