This makes it possible to significantly reduce the well-known conflict of objectives between rolling resistance, wet grip and durability. The technicians have tested countless rubber compounds and more than 50 prototypes in the laboratory and in practice. The OneStar Triple Compound is not only faster, it also has the usual good grip and is more cut-resistant than previous compounds. This makes the tire significantly more puncture-proof. At 205 grams, this racing bike tire weighs slightly more than the Ultremo ZX due to the slightly increased use of materials. But the technical advantages more than make up for this supposed disadvantage: thanks to the innovative triple compound, rolling resistance is reduced to a minimum.
