Description
SQlab 314, aluminum racing handlebar 31.8mm
The Gravellenker 314 comes onto the market to match the 614 ERGOWAVE® active 2.1 saddle. The concept of the front sweep, the compact geometry, the flat and angular shape is also present here, as with our racing bike handlebars 312 R Carbon. In comparison, the 314 handlebar has a 25 mm rise, which allows for a comfortable seating position. The 14° Flare offers additional control in technical terrain and is designed in such a way that it does not influence the position of the brake handles, i.e., unlike standard handlebars, it only starts below the brake handles.
When it comes to ergonomics, in contrast to our MTB handlebars, we rely on a 10° front sweep, which decreases towards the end of the handlebar and thus offers perfect ergonomics. All contact surfaces are optimized down to the last detail:
Grip security: The 14° Flare offers additional control on technical terrain and is designed so that the brake handles do not tip, meaning the brake is accessible at all times.
Comfort: 25mm rise for a comfortable and more upright sitting position on long journeys.
Ergobar: Is a wave-shaped elevation on the underside. This results in a flat, slightly angular underside of the handle. Perfectly matches the square angled fingers.
Square and flat: The handle on the lower link is also comfortable to grip thanks to the flattened outside and at the same time ensures a secure hold in various riding positions.
Maximized contact surface: The surface, which is flattened at the top and pulled far forward, is maximally large. This means your fingers can securely wrap around the gravel bar and at the same time provide support.
Di2 compatible: even older generations
Ergonomic posture
The 25 mm rise of the handlebars enables a more relaxed posture on long distances thanks to a slightly more upright sitting position on the gravel bike.
Grip security
The 14° flare in the drop bar offers more control on technically demanding off-road rides.
The gravel bar was specially designed so that the drop bar flare only starts below the brake handles so as not to change their position. This means the brake remains within reach at all times.
Maximized contact surface
The raised area of the gravel bar is flattened and pulled forward to create the largest possible contact surface. This results in the best possible grip while at the same time evenly distributing pressure on the handlebar surface.
Ergobar
The wave-shaped elevation on the front of the handlebars creates a flat, slightly angular shape.
The gravel bar fits perfectly into the square, angled fingers of the hand.
Angular and flat
Thanks to the flattened outside, the gravel bar is comfortable and secure to grip, even in the lower link, allowing for a secure hold in various riding positions.
Drop bar with front sweep
Numbness in the fingers is a common problem that is often caused by poor wrist positioning. In a neutral position, our wrists are naturally straight.
In arm positions that are wider than shoulder-width, such as on an MTB handlebar, we prevent the wrist from being overextended by using a backsweep.
However, with arm positions that are closer than shoulder width, a backsweep would straighten the wrist again.
That's why the 314 Gravellenbar has a front sweep of 10° to ensure a straight transition from forearm to hand.
