DoubleTap
What is DoubleTap? DoubleTap® is SRAM's key technology that replaces traditional technology. The combination of brake and shift lever has not proven successful. SRAM RED, SRAM Force, SRAM Rival and SRAM Apex have a brake lever that brakes and a shift lever that shifts gears.
The advantages of DoubleTap®: With DoubleTap® you shift faster and easier. There is only one direction of movement. A quick tap is enough to switch up. To shift to a lower gear, simply push the lever further.
This is how DoubleTap works: The genius of DoubleTap® technology is the consistent direction of movement of the shift lever. With a short, quick tap, the transport pawl moves the ratchet wheel upwards through the switching area. For a lower gear, the lever is moved a longer distance. The holding and transport pawls move quickly and cleanly.
Free choice of grip position: The almost linear direction of movement of the DoubleTap® levers offers another advantage. The gearshift lever can be operated from almost all handle positions. What's unique is the fact that the gear lever can be pulled towards the handlebars like the trigger of a gun! You can shift upwards while sprinting without releasing your grip on the handlebars.
Your advantage: The efficient, ergonomic design saves weight and offers more comfort. You can also switch gears while sprinting, which gives you a decisive advantage not only in competition. EXACT ACTUATION™
When we first introduced our racing bike technologies, we once again used our proven SRAM MTB 1:1 gear ratio for 10-speed gears (suspension travel shift cable: rear derailleur movement). Exact Actuation helps create a simpler and more stable balance between rear derailleur suspension design, tight sprocket gaps and precise cable tension. The result: a switching system that is extremely easy to use.

ZeroLoss™
ZeroLoss stands for “zero loss”. When you operate the gear lever to shift up or down a gear, the cable is released immediately, ensuring zero loss of motion. There's no more idle time waiting for the gear to click into place. The gear is changed immediately and precisely.

ErgoDynamics ™
Thanks to longer brake levers, independent reach adjustment for the brake and shift levers and an optimized lever shape, the levers are comfortable and easily accessible even for drivers of different sizes.

Reach width adjustment
The fit and ergonomics of the brake lever is a very personal matter. Drivers have individual positioning preferences as well as unique hand sizes and finger lengths. With the reach adjustment, the lever can be easily adjusted - for maximum control with just one finger.
