Thomson Downhill Riser Bar Handlebar 800mm, 31.8mm - Black
The Thomson downhill handlebar is 800mm wide, has a rise of 20mm, 9° backsweep and 5° upsweep. It is made of 7050 aluminum alloy, which ensures stability and durability. The 65mm wide clamp area fits our Direct Mount stem and offers the highest torsional rigidity of any handlebar/stem combination. The 31.8 middle section is absolutely straight over a width of 90mm. The long straight section in the middle reduces stress concentrations, especially when using wide direct mount stems.
The handlebars are butted and tapered in several stages to achieve optimal fatigue resistance. The ends of the rod are thickened from 1.4 to 1.6mm to prevent damage from impacts and ground contact.
The pipes are manufactured using an advanced hydraulic pressing process so that they do not need to be sanded by hand. Almost all other bars are bent by hand, and the bends are sanded to appear smooth. Hydraulic press forming ensures very consistent wall thickness and tight tolerances, especially on tapered sections. This keeps the weight low and the service life high.
Paired with a Thomson stem, this is the best aluminum cockpit you can get. It is the perfect complement to your Elite X4 stem or X2.
